The UK Advertising Standards authority has banned a William Hill Live Casino TV ad for being too hot for TV.
The Gambling Reform and Society Perception Group (GRASP) laid a complaint against William Hill purporting that the advert associated gambling with sexual attraction and seduction.
During proceedings, ASA argued that the opening sequence of the ad where there is a close up of a woman’s beautiful eyes looking into the camera and then her plunging cleavage showing can be misconstrued to link sexual attraction to gambling.
ASA also outlined that the ad highlighted sensual areas of the croupiers body and this would link gambling with seduction.
ASA said that the ad contravened BCAP Code rules 17.3 and 17.3.7 of the advertising standards relating to gambling.
